Our Story

A small farm, a big belief in real food, and two people figuring it out together.

A farm built from
curiosity, roots,
and real belief

We’re Nat and Shea — the farmers behind Green & Bloom. Since 2020, we’ve been growing vegetables and flowers as first-generation farmers, now tending one acre of land in Amaranth, Ontario.

Farming found us just as much as we found it. What started as a simple desire to be closer to the land slowly grew into something deeper — a way of life rooted in curiosity, care, and the joy of creating something meaningful with nature.

We’re learning as we go, season by season, and that’s part of what makes it so special.

Two people, one farm, an ongoing conversation between optimism and realism.

Shea (Shehan)

CO-FOUNDER & HEAD GROWER

Shea leads the growing side of the farm, shaping each season’s crop plan, sourcing unique seed varieties, and working closely with chefs. In the growing season, you’ll find him at the farmers’ market, sharing the harvest and connecting with the community. Before farming, his days were spent at an office and his nights DJing — until a pull toward something more grounded led him down an entirely different path. He approaches each season with curiosity, care, and a steady trust in the process.

Natalie

CO-FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Nat guides the creative side of Green & Bloom, leading the flower production — from growing, to creating bouquets, to designing weddings and events— all while shaping the farm’s visual identity and storytelling. She’s always felt most at home outside, drawn to the beauty of working with nature and creating something meaningful and sustainable. Her work brings a sense of intention, cohesion, and warmth to everything the farm shares.

WHY WE DO IT

Grown with intention,
nourished with care

Since we started, Green and Bloom has taken on many different iterations as we've continued to learn, grow, and solidify our roots. Today, we grow roughly one acre of over 100 different varieties of vegetables and flowers in Amaranth, ON. With each phase of the farm's evolution, our intention has remained the same: to grow the healthiest plants possible using organic and sustainable agricultural practices that are good for the soil, the environment, and the people eating our food.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Some things stay constant, no matter the season.

Organic & regenerative, always

1

We don’t take shortcuts with the soil. Our practices are rooted in the belief that healthy land grows healthy food, and that caring for the earth directly shapes the quality of what we eat. We grow without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or herbicides — focusing instead on building living, resilient soil and working in rhythm with nature.

Seasonal and intentional

2

Each variety we grow on the farm is chosen with care and curiosity — for its flavour, its role in biodiversity, and its connection to the Ontario seasons. It reflects a more intentional way of growing and eating, where seasonality shapes what we grow and how we share it with the people who eat our food.

Community at the centre

3

Community is at the core of our farm. Everything we grow is shaped by the people who share the season with us — our Farm Share members, customers, chefs, and neighbours. It’s not just about what we grow, but about growing it together and staying connected along the way.

Honesty over perfection

4

Farming is both beautiful and hard. We share both sides — the abundance and the challenges, the bumper crops and the seasons that teach us something new. We’re not performing an ideal; we’re living one honest season at a time.
